आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

भगवन्तौ  जगन्नेत्रे  सूर्याचन्द्रमसावापि |

पश्य  गच्छत एवाSस्तं  नियतिः केन लङ्घ्यते ||

                                                       -शार्ङ्गधर 

भावार्थ -   परमेश्वर ने इस संसार के  नेत्रों के समान  सूर्य 

और चन्द्रमा के सृष्टि की |  परन्तु देखो तो  उन्हें भी प्रत्येक 

दिन चल कर अन्त में अस्त होना पडता है  | भला नियति 

के विधान का  कोई  उल्लङ्घन  कर सकता है ?

(नियति या भाग्य के सामने किसी का भी वश नहीं चलता है |

इसी तथ्य को एक अतिशयोक्ति के माध्यम से (सूर्य और चन्द्र 

की तुलना इस संसार के नेत्रों से कर) यह  प्रतिपादित किया है कि

वे भी परमेश्वर द्वारा उनके लिये निर्धारित नियम (रोज उदय 

होना और अस्त होना) के विपरीत नहीं जा सकते हैं | )

Bhagavantau  jagannetre Sooryaachandramasaavapi.

Pashya  gacchata  evaastam  niyatih  kena  langhyate.

Bhagavantau =God Almighty.    Jagannetra= jagat +netra.

Jagat = this World.    Netra = eye.    Soorya + chandram +

asau+ api.    Soorya = the Sun.     Chandram = the Moon. 

Asau = such.    Api =  even.    Pashya = see.    Gacchata +

go.  evaastam = eva + astam.    Eva = thus.    Astam = set.

Niyatih = destiny.    kena =by what.    Langhyate=   avoid,

overstep.

i.e.     The God Almighty created the Sun and the Moon as

the eyes of this World.  But they too have to commence their 

journey and set down every day.   Can any body dare to avoid

or overstep his/her destiny ?

( People are helpless against their destiny. This fact has been

highlighted by a  metaphor (hyperbole) of  the Sun  and Moon  

depicted as eyes of this World,  They too  can not go against 

the will of  the God Almighty and are destined to rise and set

every day without any break.)
