आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

किं   नानानरकैः किं  वा यमयातनयापि  च  |
यन्मौढ्यमेव सर्वाणि दुःखान्यासादयिष्यति  ||
                             -सुभाषित रत्नाकर (स्फुट )

भावार्थ -     एक मूर्ख  व्यक्ति के लिये विभिन्न नरकों में  यमराज
द्वारा दी गयी यातनायें  कुछ भी नहीं हैं जिस प्रकार की  यातनाओं
से वह अपनी मूर्खता के कारण विभिन्न  प्रकार के दुःखों से सदैव
त्रस्त रहता है |

(यह सुभाषित "मूर्खवर्णनम्" शीर्षक के अन्तर्गत संकलित है | इसमे
अतिशयोक्ति अलङ्कार के द्वारा एक मूर्ख व्यक्ति की समाज में
दयनीय स्थिति का वर्णन किया गया है | )

Kim naanaa-narakaih kim vaa yamayaatanayaapi cha.
Yanmaudhyameva  sarvaani  Duhkhaanyaasaadayishyati.

Kim = what.   Naanaa = many various.   Narakaih = Hells.
Vaa = or.   Yamayaatanaa = torment inflicted byYama, the
God of death.   Api =even.   Cha=and.  Yanmaudhyameva=
yat +maudhyam + eva.   Yat = that.  Maudhyam = stupidity. 
Eva =really, thus.  Sarvaani=all.  Duhkhaanyaasaadayishyati=
Duhkhaani + aasaadayishyati.    Dukhaani =  miseries.
Assadayishyati  = attacked by.

i.e.     The torments inflicted by Yama, the God of Death, to the
sinners in various Hells are nothing in comparison to all types
of miseries which a stupid person has to face in the society .

(By the use of a hyperbole  the author has highlighted the 
miserable life of a stupid person in the society.).
