साधूनां चरणाम्भोजपरागं भगवानपि |
वाञ्छतीति त एवेह वन्द्याः पद्माकरा इव ||
-सुभाषित रत्नाकर (स्फुट)
भावार्थ - साधु (सज्जन और परोपकारी ) व्यक्तियों के कमल पुष्प
के समान सुन्दर और कोमल चरणों की धूलि पाने की इच्छा स्वयं
भगवान भी करते हैं | इसी कारण से संत जन इस संसार में कमल
पुष्पों के समान ही वन्दनीय हैं |
(एक अतिशयोक्ति के द्वारा , कि संतों की चरणधूलि पाने की कामना
स्वयं भगवान भी करते हैं, इस सुभाषित में संतों की प्रसंशा की गयी है |)
Saadhoonaam charanaambhojaparaagam Bhagavaanapi.
Vaanchateeti ta eveha vandyaah padmaakaraa iva.
Saadhoonaam = noble persons. Charanaambhojaparaaga=
Charana+ambhoja +paraaga. Charana = feet. Ambhoja =
Lotus flower. Paraaga = pollen of flowers (here reference
is to the dust on the feet of noble persons) Bhagavaanapi=
Bhagavaan+ api. Bhagavaan = the God Almighty. Api=
even. Vaanchateeti = vaanchati + iti. Vaanchati = desires.
Iti = it. Ta= that. Eveha = eva+ iha. Eva = really. thus.
Iha = in this World Vandyaah = venerable. Padmaakaraa =
lotus flowers. Iva = like ( comparison).

i.e. Even the God Almighty himself desires to have the
dust on the lotus like feet of noble and righteous persons.
For this very reason noble persons are venerated like the
beautiful lotus flower in this World.
(Through the use of a hyperbole that even God himself desires
to have the dust of the feet of noble persons ,the author of this
Subhashita. has praised the contribution of noble persons in the
Society.)
