आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

खलः   सज्जनकार्पासधक्षणैकहुताशनः  |
परदुःखाग्निधमनमारुतः केन वर्ण्यताम्  ||
     -                        सुभाषित रत्नाकर (प्रसंगरत्नावली )

भावार्थ -    कपास के समान शुभ्र  और कोमल स्वभाव के सज्जन
व्यक्तियों को जलाने (हानि पहुंचाने )में दुष्ट व्यक्ति  अग्नि के
समान होते है  |  अन्य व्यक्तियों की दुःखाग्नि को और भडकाने
में तीव्र वायु के समान कार्य करने वाले  इन दुष्ट लोगो के स्वभाव
का और क्या  वर्णन किया जाय ?

(यह सुभाषित भी "दुर्जननिन्दा" शीर्षक के अन्तर्गत संकलित है |
इस में दो उपमाओं के  माध्यम से दुष्ट व्यक्तियों के स्वभाव का
वर्णन किया गया है | )

Khalah sajjana-kaarpaas,dhakshanaika-hutaashanah.
Paraduhkhaagni-dhamana-maarutah kena  varnyataam.

Khalah = a wicked person.    Sajjana = noble person.
Kaarpaasa = cotton.  Dhakshana = burning.  Eka = one,
single,   Hutaashanah = fire.    Paraduhkhaagni = para +
duhkha=agni.   Para = of others'    Duhkha = misery.
Agni=  fire.    Dhaman = burning.   Maarutah = wind.
Kena = Why ?   how ?    Varnyataam= described.

i.e.     Noble and righteous persons are like the soft cotton.
and wicked persons are like a fire which instantly burns the
cotton.  In what other manner can we describe the wicked
persons,who stoke the fire of miseries of other persons like
a blowing wind ?

(Through these two similes the author has described the true
 nature of wicked persons, of  causing harm to others without
any reason.)
