आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

विवेकः सह  संयत्या  विनयो  विद्यया  सह |
प्रभुत्वं  प्रश्रयोपेतं  चिह्नमेतन्महात्मनाम्   ||
           -  सुभाषित रत्नाकर (प्रसंग रत्नावली )

भावार्थ  -          विवेकशील होने के साथ ही अपने निर्णय की समीक्षा
करना ,विद्वान होने के साथ ही विनम्र स्वभाव का होना , शक्तिशाली
होते हुए भी विनम्र  स्वभाव का होना , ये सभी  चिह्न  एक महान और
शक्तिशाली पुरुष में पाये जाते  हैं |

Vivekah saha smyatyaaa  vinayo  vidyayaa  saha.
Prabhutvam  prashrayopetam  chinhametan-mahaatmanaam.

Vivekah = discretion, wisdom.    Saha = along with.   Smyatyaa=
penance,  self castigation.Vinayo = humility.    Vidyayaa=
scholarship, knowledge.         Prabhutvam = authority, power.
Prashrayopetam = prashrya + upetam.    Prashrya = modesty.
Upetam = possessing, having.   Chinnham +etat+mahaatmanaam.
Cihnam = symbol.    Etat = this.   Mahaatmanaam = powerful and
distinguished persons.

i.e.    Having discretion along with self castigation,  knowledgeable
along with humility, powerful  along with modesty ,all these are the
symbols of a powerful and virtuous person.
