आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

दोषाSSलोकननिपुणः परुषगिरो  दुर्जनाश्च काकाश्च  |
दर्शनमपि भयजननं  येषामनिमित्तपिशुनानां            ||
                                         - सुभाषित रत्नाकर (स्फुट)

भावार्थ -     दुष्ट  व्यक्ति और कव्वे अन्य  व्यक्तियों के दोषों को
उजागर करने में अत्यन्त निपुण होते हैं तथा उनकी वाणी कर्कश
होती है | क्योंकि ये अकारण ही दूसरों को हानि पहुंचाते हैं ,इनको
देखने मात्र से ही लोग भयभीत हो जाते हैं |

(इस सुभाषित में दुष्ट व्यक्तियों और कव्वों की एक समान आलोचना
की गयी है जो उचित नहीं है | कव्वे  तो वातावरण से गन्दगी को दूर कर
समाज की बडी सेवा करते हैं  यद्दपि उनकी आवाज कर्कश होती है जो कि
क्षम्य है | )

Doshaalokananipunah parushgiro durjanaashcha kaakaashcha.
Darshanamapi bhayajananam yeshaamanimittapishunaanaam.

Doshaa = defects, shortcomings.  Alokan = seeing.   Nipunaah=
expert.    Parush = harsh.    Giro = voice.    Durjanaashcha = of
wicked and malicious persons.     Kaakaashcha = of the crows.
Darshanam =  by seeing .    Api = even.       Bhaya =   fear.
Jananam = creating.   Yeshaam = these.   Animitta = without any
reason.     Pishunanaam = wicked and malicious persons.

i.e.   Wicked and malicious persons as also the crows are experts
in finding defects in other persons and their voice is also very
harsh.   As they have the tendency of causing harm to others without
any reason, people become afraid simply by seeing them.

( In this Subhashita wicked  persons and crows have been criticised
which is not fair in respect of the crows.  They are the  scavengers 
of the environment and render very useful service to the society. Of
course their voice is very harsh, which may simply be ignored. )
