आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

प्राक्पादयो  पतति  खादति  पृष्ठमांसं
कर्णे  कलं  किमपि  रौति  शनैर्विचित्रम्   |
छिद्रं  निरूप्य  सहसा प्रविशत्य  शङ्कः
सर्वं  खलस्य  चरितं  मशकः करोति       ||
            - सुभाषित रत्नाकर (सभा तरंग )

भावार्थ -  एक दुष्ट व्यक्ति सबसे पहले अपने लक्ष्य के चरणों में
झुकता है और उसकी  पीठ पीछे उसे हानि पहुंचाता है | और फिर
उसके  कानों के  निकट जा कर बडे ही मधुर स्वर में और  विचित्र
तरीके से धीरे से  गुनगुनाता है |  और फिर अचानक  उसकी रक्षा
प्रणाली में  कोई छिद्र (कमी) दिखाई देने पर निडर हो कर उसके
अधिकार क्षेत्र में प्रवेश कर  जाता है |   एक दुष्ट व्यक्ति की इस
कार्य प्रणाली का अनुकरण एक मच्छर भी करता है |

Praakpaadayo  patati  khaadati prushtha-maamsam.
Karne  kalam  kimapi  rauti  shanairvichitram.
Chidram  niroopya  sahasaa  pravishyatyashankah.
Sarvam  khalasya  charitam  mashakah  karoti.

Prakpaadayoh = praak + paaadayoh.   Praak = earlier,
long ago.    Paadayoh = on the feet.   Patati = falls
khaadati = eats.   Prushtha = back side,    Maamsam =
flesh, meat.    Karne = on the ears.   Kalam = sweet
and low sound.    Kimapi = rather.    Rauti = makes a
humming sound.  Shanairvichitram =shanaih+vichitram. 
Shanaih =gradually,  slowly.    Vichitram = queer.
Chidram = a hole.,a chink in the defence of the person.
Niroopya =having  observed      Sahasaa = suddenly.
Pravishatyashankah = pravishati + ashankah.  Pravishati =
enters.   Ashanakh = fearlessly.   Sarvam =all.   Khalasya =
a wicked person's.      Charitam = actions.     Mashakah =
a mosquito.    Karoti = does.

i.e.     A wicked person approaches his target first by bowing
at his feet and harms him without his knowledge. Thereafter,
slowly makes queer and sweet sound on his ears, and after
finding a chink in the defence system of his victim, fearlessly
enters in his domain.  All these traits of a wicked person are
also found in a mosquito.
