आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

आपदर्थे  धनं रक्षेद्दारान्  रक्षेद्धनैरपि |
आत्मानं  सततं रक्षेद्दारैरपि  धनैरपि  ||
                        - चाणक्य नीति  (१/६)

भावार्थ -     किसी प्रकार की आपदा से सुरक्षा  के लिये धन
बचा कर रखना चाहिये , और धन  की तुलना में अपनी स्त्री
की रक्षा को प्राथमिकता देनी चाहिये |  स्वयं अपनी रक्षा तो
अपनी स्त्री और धन की रक्षा से भी अधिक निरन्तर करनी
चाहिये |

Aapadarthe dhanam raksheddaaraan  raksheddhanairapi.
Aatmaanam satatam raksheddaarairapi  dhanairapi.

Aapat + arthe.    Apaat = misfortune,  emergency..   Arthe =
for the sake of.     Dhanam = money.    Rakshet + daaraan,
Rakshet = should save.   Daaraan =  to the wife..  Rakshet+
dhanaih + api.    Rakshet = protect.   Api = even more than
(to express emphasis).    Aatmaanam = self.      Satatam =
always , continuously.    Rakshet +daaraih + api.   Dhanaih
+api.    Dhanaih = money, wealth. 

i.e.     One should save money for the sake of getting protection
in case of an emergency, or a calamity, but at the same time give 
priority to protecting his wife rather than his wealth.   He should
continuously take care of himself  even more than his wife and
his wealth.
