इन्द्रियाणि च संयम्य बकवत्पण्डितो नरः |
देशकालबलं ज्ञात्वा सर्वकार्याणि साधयेत् ||

भावार्थ - एक विद्वान व्यक्ति को अपनी सभी कर्मेन्द्रियों के
ऊपर नियन्त्रण रखते हुए, जल में मछली पकडते हुए एक बगुले
की जैसी एकाग्रता से, तथा देश की वर्तमान परिस्थिति का सही
आकलन करने के पश्चात ही अपने सभी कार्यों को करना चाहिये |
Indriyaani cha smyamya bakavat-pandito narah .
Desha-kaala-balam gyaatvaa sarva-kaaryaani saadhayet.
Indriyaani = all sensory organs. cha = and. Smyamya =
to be restrained or subdued. Bakavat = like a crane bird.
Pandito - learned. Narah = a person. Desha-kaal = place
and time Balam = power. Gyaatvaa = intelligently
assessing. Sarvaa = all. Kaaryaani = activities, works.
Saadhayet = accomplish, achieve.
i.e. A learned person should accomplish all his tasks by having
full control over his sensory organs, and paying full attention to
them like that of a crane bird while catching fish, and after duly
assessing the prevailing situation in his Country.
