अभ्यासाद्धार्यते विद्या कुलं शीलेन धार्यते |
गुणेन ज्ञायते त्वार्य: कोपो नेत्रेण गम्यते ||

भावार्थ - सतत अभ्यास करने से ही सीखी हुई विद्या के ऊपर
अधिकार बना रहता है तथा अच्छे चरित्र और गुणों से युक्त सदस्यों
से एक परिवार स्थायी और समृद्ध रहता है | लेकिन अपने गुणों के
कारण ही कोई व्यक्ति समाज में प्रसिद्धि और आदर प्राप्त करता है
तथा कोई व्यक्ति क्रोधित है या नहीं यह उसके नेत्रों को देख कर ही
ज्ञात हो जाता है |
Abhyaasaaddhaaryate vidyaa kulam sheelena dhaaryate.
Gunena gyaayate tvaaryah kopo netrena gamyate.
Abhyaasaat + dhaaryate. Abhyaasaat = by regularly
practicing. Dhaaryate = retained. held. Vidyaa= knowledge.
Kulam = family . Sheelena= good character, virtues.
Gunena = by the virtues. Gyayate = is known. Tvsaaryah=
tu+ Aaryah. Tu = but. Aaryah = a honourable person.
Kopo = anger. Netrena = by the eyes. Gamyate= meant,
is perceptible,
only
i.e. A person can retain his knowledge of the subjects learnt
by him only by regular practise, and the stability of a family can
be retained only by the good character and virtues of its members.
But only a virtuous person is termed as honourable by the society,
and whether a person is angry or not is perceptible by looking at
his eyes.
