भस्मना शुद्ध्यते कांस्यं ताम्रमम्लेन शुद्ध्यति |
रजसा शुद्ध्यते नारी नदी वेगेन शुद्ध्यति || शु द्

भावार्थ - कांसा धातु राख द्वारा रगडे जाने से शुद्ध हो जाती है
तथा तांबा किसी अम्ल (तेजाब) द्वारा रगडे जाने से शुद्ध हो जाता
है | स्त्रियां रजस्वला हो जाने पर शुद्ध हो जाती हैं तथा एक नदी वेग
पूर्वक जलप्रवाहित होने से (बाढ आने से ) शुद्ध हो जाती है |
Bhasmanaa shudhyate kaamsyam taamramamlena shudhyati.d
Rajasaa shudhyate naaree nadee vegena shudhyati.
Bhasmanaa = by the use of ash. Shudhyate = is cleansed.
Kaamsyam = bronze metal. Taamram + amlena. Taamram =
copper. Amlena = by the use of acid. Rajasaa = by the periodic
menstrual excretion . Naaree = a woman. Nadee = a river.
Vegena = by the velocity of its water (during a flood).
i.e. Bronze metal can be cleansed by rubbing it with ash, and
copper is cleansed by rubbing it with an acid. Womenfolk get
cleansedby their periodic menstrual excretion, and a river gets
cleansed (during a flood) by the fast flow of water in it .
