धनधान्यप्रयोगेषु विद्यासङ्ग्रहणे तथा |
आहारे व्यवहारे च त्यक्लज्जः सुखी भवेत् ||
- चाणक्य नीति (७/२ )
भावार्थ - धन तथा धान्य (विभिन्न खाद्य वस्तुओं ) का किसी
नये रूप में उपयोग करते समय, विद्या प्राप्त करते समय ,भोजन
करते समय . तथा अन्य व्यक्तियों से व्यवहार करते समय लज्जा
का त्याग कर सुखी होना चाहिये |
(उपर्युक्त परिस्थितियों में लज्जित होने के भय से लोग सही
निर्णय लेने में झिझकते हैं | उदाहरणार्थ यदि परोसा हुआ भोजन
रुचिकर नहीं हो तो उसे स्वीकार नहीं करना चाहिये , यदि शिक्षक
द्वारा बताया गया विषय समझ में नहीं आया हो तो लज्जा त्याग
कर पुनः बताने का अनुरोध करना चाहिये |)
Dhana-dhaana-prayogeshu vidyaagaa-sangrahane tathaa.
Aahaare vyavahaare cha ttyaktalajjah sukhee bhavet,
Dhana = wealth. Dhaanya = food grains. Prayogeshu =
trial, experiment .Vidyaasngrahane = acquiring knowledge.
Tathaa = accordingly Aahaare = while taking food.
Vyavahaare = while dealing with others cha = and.
Tyaktlajjah =by abandoning shame. Sukhee = happy.
Bhavet = become.
i.e. While using wealth and food grains for developing a
new product. acquiring knowledge from a Teacher, eating
the served food, and dealing with other persons,one should
abandon the feeling of shame and be happy.
(Under the above noted circumstances people hesitate to take
any decision e.g. if the food served to a person is not of his
liking he should not accept it, if the teacher has taught some
thing and the student has not understood it he should tell the
teacher accordingly and request him to explain it again .)
