Kuraaj-raajyena kutah prajaa-sukham.
Kumitra-mitrena kutobhinirvrutih.
Kudaaradaaraishcha kuto gruhe ratih.
Kushishyamadhyaapayatah kuto yashah.
Kuraaj = badly governed. Raajyena - in a Country.
Kutah =from where. Prajaa= the citizens. Sukham =
happiness. Kumitra-mitrena = from a bad friend.
kuto +abhinirvrutih. Kuto = whence. Abhinirvrutih=
all round happiness. Kudaaradaaraishcha = having a
bad and ill mannered wife. Gruhe = in the household.
Ratih = affection, love. Kushishyam + adhyaapayatah.
Kushishyam = bad and incompetent pupils,
Adhyaapatah = by teaching. Yashah = fame, honour.
i,e, How can the citizens of a badly governed Country lead
a happy and peaceful life and a person having bad friends
can also be happy ? From where a person having a bad
wife get happiness in his household , and how can a Teacher
get fame and honour if he teaches bad and incompetent pupils.
(The underlying idea is that all the above things are impossible
to be achieved,)
