आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

तक्षकस्य  विषं  दन्ते  मक्षिकायास्तु  मस्तके  |
वृश्चिकस्य  विषं  पुच्छे  सर्वाङ्गे  दुर्जने  विषम  ||
                                     - चाणक्य नीति (१७/८ )

भावार्थ -   एक  विषेले  सर्प  का विष उस के  दांतों  में होता है और
मधुमक्खियों  का विष  उन के सिर में  होता है |     बिच्छू  का विष
उसकी पूंछ की नोक पर होता है.  परन्तु एक नीच और दुष्ट व्यक्ति
का तो संपूर्ण शरीर ही विषमय  होता है |

Takshakasya  visham  dante  makshikaayaastu  mastake,
Vrushchikasya  visham  pucche  sarvaange  durjane visham.

Takshakasya=   a very poisonous snake personified after the
name of  a snake named 'Takshak' mentioned in Hindu mytho-
logy.   Visham = poison.    Dante = teeth.    Makshikaayaastu =
Makshikaayaah + tu.    Makshikaayaah = bees.   Tu = and.
Mastake =the head.  Vrushchikasya= of the  Scorpion.   Pucche=
tail.    Sarvange = over the whole body    Durjane = a mean and
wicked person. 

i.e.     A  snake's poison is in its teeth and  a  bee's  poison is on
its  head.   The poison of a Scorpion is in its tail,  but the  entire
body of a mean and wicked person is poisonous.
