राजा वेश्या यमश्चाग्निस्तकरो बालयाचकौ |
परदुःखं न जानन्ति अष्टमो ग्रामकण्टकः ||

भावार्थ - राजा, वेश्या , यमराज (मृत्यु का देवता) , अग्नि ,
लुटेरा , बालक , याचक (भिखारी) , तथा आठवां गांव में रहने
वाला एक अशिष्ठ व्यक्ति, ये सभी अन्य व्यक्तियों को उनके
व्यवहार के कारण होने वाले दुःख को नहीं जानते (अनुभव नहीं
करते ) हैं |
Raajaa veshyaa yamashchaagnistaskaro baala-yaachakau.
Paraduhkham na jaananti ashtamo graamakantakau.
Raajaa = King, a Ruler. Yamah + cha + agnih +taskaro.
Yamah = the God of Death. Cha = and. Taskaro =
thief, robber. Baala = a child. Yaachakau = beggars.
Paraduhkham = another;s pain or sorrow. Na =not. Jaananti=
know. Ashtamo = the eighth. Gramakantakah = ill mannered
villager.
i.e. A King, a prostitute, Yama the God of Death, fire, thieves,
children and beggars (these seven ) and the eighth one an ill-
mannered villager, all these do not know (feel) the suffering and
pain they cause to others by their behaviour.
