may result in termination of friendship with his existing friends
and the new friendship may also  end in no time.)

all around.

(Generally the ruling class is surrounded by such persons who do not have the courage
to apprise them with the real problems and the rulers are also not inclined to listen to any
adverse opinion, resulting in miseries. A Hindu Poet Sant Tulsidas has in a couplet
stated that if the Minister, Guru and a Vaidya (doctor) hide the bitter truth and speak
pleasingly, then this results in the destruction of the kingdom, Dharma (morality) and the
patient. This Subhashita also underlines this fact in a positive way.)

the face of being addressed abusively and not retaliating in the same manner,
has been compared to 'Agur (used in incense sticks), which even on being
burned retains its inherent sweet smell.)

author of the Subhashita emphasizes that if a person has all the qualities
mentioned in the Subhashita, then where is the need of wearing these
artificial ornaments ? )

never the same in all living beings and it depends upon their nature and the size.)
