has the tendency of causing harm without any reason  at
every step.

(The idea behind this Subhashita is that  a relationship ,which is based
on the give and take  policy , ends immediately after completion of the
task in hand or there being no possibility of being completed in future.)

children upto  the age of 5 years and thereafter for next 10 years
he should enforce strict discipline. But from the 16th year onwards
he should treat his children like a friend.)

the people.

(The contents of a book is the deciding factor of its value. A book
may not have literary merit but if it is associated with God then it
no longer remains an ordinary book but becomes valuable ,  just
like  an oyster shell containing a pearl inside it ,)

the hope of getting alms, or the bright and majestic Sun also
moves towards south-west  and spreads its rays, even the
majesty and brightness of the Sun gets reduced, what to say
about ordinary persons.

(This Subhashita is also classified as 'condemning the beggar' .
Here the words 'dakshinaasha' and 'karasya' have two meanings.
as given above.  The Sun moving towards south-west and losing
its brightness while setting has been used as a simile, to denote
that begging results in loss of self respect and virtues of a beggar.)

assistance he got to accomplish this task was from the monkeys. Even
then  Lord Ram managed to kill  the entire clan of the Rakshashaas.
It is truly said that great and powerful persons achieve success in
their endeavor due to their valor and not through various equipments.

by uttering again and again - 'please give this to me' .

(This Subhashit is also classified under the caption 'Yaachak
ninda' i.e. condemning the begging.  It indirectly deals with
the ignominy a beggar has to face while begging.)

Sadya eva bhagavaanapi Vishnurvaamano bhavati Yaachitu-
micchan.

Yaachanaa = begging.   Hi = surely.    Purushasya = a person's .
Mahattvam = importance.    Naashayati + akhilam + eva.
Naashayati = destroys.    Akhillam =entirely.   Eva = really.
Tathaa = so.   sadya = instantly.   Bhagwaan+ api.   Bhagvaan=
God.     Api = even.     Vishnuh + vaamano.   Vishnuh = the God
Vishnu.   Vaamano = a dwarf.    Bhavati =becomes.   Yaachitum=
begging.   Icchati = desires to.

i.e.     No sooner a person begs some thing from another person, his
importance and self-respect is lost entirely  and instantly.   Just see,
even the God Vishnu became a dwarf when he went  to the King Bali
for thee purpose of begging..

(In this Subhashita the episode of "Vaamanaavataar"  from the Hindu
Mythology has been used as a simile.  For details please use this link
