Today's Subhashita.

Ekenaapi suputrena simhee svapiti nirbhayam.
Sadaiva dashbhih putrairbhaaram vahati gardhabhee.

Ekenaapi = eken +api.      Eken = one.     Api = even,     Suputrena =  by a worthy son .

i.e.      Even if a lioness may have only one worthy cub, she sleeps without any fear ( because she she is confident that the cub will protect her while she is asleep). In contrast a she-ass may have ten foals, but still she is destined to carry heavy loads.

(The idea behind this Subhashita is that it is preferable to have only one son who is worthy and supports  his parents, rather than having a number of unworthy sons, who only aggravate the  hardships of their parents.)
