Today's Subhashita.

existing friends but also the friendship with that  person .

( The purport behind this Subhashita is that one should choose his
friends judiciously. Friendship with a mean and wicked person
may result in termination of friendship with his existing friends
and the new friendship may also  end in no time.)

i.e.       Death and immortality both exist together in human body   Death
happens due to ignorance and confusion, whereas immortality  is achieved
by leading a virtuous life adhering to truthfulness.

(Birth and death, both are the eternal truths and whosoever is born dies
ultimately.  What is mean by immortality in this Subhashita is that the
name and fame of a person remains even after his death if he follows a
truthful and righteous lifestyle in the service of the mankind.)
