To day's Shubhashita.

अयं निजः परो वेति गणना लघुचेतसाम्
उदार चरितानां तु वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्

Ayam nijah paro veti gananaa laghuchetasam
Udaar charitaanam to vasudhaiwa kutumbakam.

i.e.   Only narrow minded persons have two different outlooks towards common matters relating to themselves and others, whereas for noble and broad minded persons the entire world is like their own  family .  (And their approach towards all matters is uniform, be it it their own matter or that of others i.e. they are never partisan.)

Note:-  The last two words of this Subhashita - 'वसुधैव  कुटुम्बकम् ' is the most oft quoted subhashit used to outline the philosophy and foreign policy of our Nation.

Nija  = ones' own ,          Paro = others            Gananaa =  consider, counting
Laghu = small.         Chetas = mind.      Vasudhaa = Mother Earth.       Kutumakam =  One's own family.

  1. I thought it was Kutumbakam. Humble suggestion, it will be great if you could provide meaning of each word starting from Ayam and also doing the vichheda and give word meaning. Thanks for the effort.
