कोSर्थः पुत्रेण जातेन यो न विद्वान् न धार्मिकः ||
Kim tayaa kriyate dhenvaa yaa na dogdhreee na garbhinee.
korthah putrena jaaten yo na vidvaan na dhaarmikh.
Kim = what. Tayaa = with him/her. Kriyate = do. Dhenvaa = cow. Yaa = who.
Na = not. Dogdhree= lactating, giving milk. Garbhinee = pregnant.
Koorthh =Ka +arthh. Ka = what. Arthh = meaning. Korthh = of what use.
Putren = Son . Jaaten = having been born, Yo = who Vidvaan = learned.
Dhaarmik = religious minded.
i.e. Of what use is a cow which is neither lactating nor pregnant (or barren) . Similarly of what use is a son who is neither learned nor religiously minded.

This cannot be a subhashitam. A subhashitam is a verse which is true in all seasons and times. A cow, which is not giving milk also so useful. It is proved by Rajiv Bhai Dixit and Supreme Court agreed.
