अहो बत महत्कष्टं विपरीतमिदं जगत् |
येनाSपत्रपते साधुरसाधुस्तेन तुष्यति ||
अर्थ - अहो ! इस संसार में अनेक प्रकार के कष्टों की भरमार है परन्तु यह् कितने आश्चर्य और
लज्जा की बात है कि जिन कष्टों से साधुजन लज्जा और दुःख का अनुभव करते हैं उसके ठीक विपरीत दुष्ट व्यक्ति उन्हीं से संतुष्टि का अनुभव करते हैं |
(उदाहरणार्थ किसी स्थान पर यदि कोई प्राकृतिक दुर्घटना होती है या दंगा होता है तो सज्जन व्यक्ति लज्जा और दुःख का अनुभव करते हैं और इस के ठीक विपरीत दुष्ट और नीच व्यक्ति लूट पाट का अवसर प्राप्त होने से प्रसन्न होते हैं | )
Aho bat mahatkashtam vipareetamidam jagat.
yenaapatrapate sadhurasaadhustena tushyati.
Aho = oh ! Bat = an expression of surprise and regret.. Mahatkashtam = mahat +kashtam.
Mahat = ample, so many. Kashtam = troubles. Vipareetamidam = vipareetm +idam.
Vipareet = opposite, contrary. Idam = this. Jagat = this World.. Yenaapatrapate = yena + apatrapate. Yena = where, by which way. Apatrapate = be ashamed. Saadhurasaaadhustena ==saadhuh + +asaadhuh+tena. Saadhuh = noble persons. Asaadhuh = wicked persons. Tena =with it.
Tushyati = is satisfied, is pleased.
i.e. Oh ! there are so many miseries and troubles in this World. But it is surprising and very shameful to observe that a misery that causes a sense of shame and pain in noble persons produces just the opposite sentiment of pleasure among wicked and mean persons.
( If there is a natural calamity or a riot at a place, noble persons feel sorry or ashamed for it, whereas just opposite reaction is there among wicked and mean persons, who are very happy for getting an opportunity
of looting the victims.)
