Today's Subhashita.

सा श्रीर्या  न  मदं कुर्यात्स  सुखी तृष्णायोज्झित:  |
तन्मित्रं  यत्र  विश्वासः पुरुषः स  जितेन्द्रियः   ||

अर्थ  -    वही समृद्धि वास्तव में सही समृद्धि है जिस को पाने से  व्यक्ति
गर्वित नहीं हो जाता है और वही व्यक्ति सुखी है जिसने अपनी तृष्णा
(किसी वस्तु को पाने की अत्यधिक  इच्छा  ) को जीत लिया हो | वही सच्ची
मित्रता है जो आपसी विश्वास पर आधारित हो  तथा वही व्यक्ति सही
अर्थ में एक सज्जन पुरुष है जो जितेन्द्रिय  (ज्ञानेन्द्रिय तथा कर्मेन्द्रियों
को अपने वश में कर गलत आचरण न करने  वाला ) हो  |

Saa shreeryaa madam kuryaatsa sukhee trushnaayojjhitah.
Tanmitram yatra vishvaasah purushah sa jitendriyah.

Saa = that .     Shree = prosperity, grace.     Yaa = which.     Na = not
Mada = pride.     Kuryaatsa = kuryaat + sa.     Kuryaat =   do.
Sa = he.      Sukhee = happy.    Trushnayojitah =  trushna+yo+jitah.
Trushnaa = greed, excessive  desire.    Yo = who.    Jitah =  subdues,
conquered.     Tanmitram =   Tm +mitram .    Tm = he.     Mitram =
friend.    Yatra = where.    Vishvaasah = trust, reliance.    Purushah =
a real gentleman.     Jitendriyah = one who has full control over his
sensory organs and emotions, an ascetic.    

i.e.    Only such a person is really prosperous and graceful who is not
proud and  a person  who has conquered his greed  is a real happy
person. A true friendship is that  which is based on mutual trust,and a
person who has full control over his sensory organs and emotions is a
real gentleman .
