Today's Subhashita.

आदौ तु  मन्दमन्दानि  मध्ये समरसानि च  |
अन्ते स्नेहायमानानि संगतान्युत्तमे  सह ||  -  महासुभषितसंग्रह (4751)

अर्थ -      उत्तम  ( सज्जन तथा विद्वान्) व्यक्तियों से  प्रारम्भ में  संपर्क   
धीरे धीरे  होता  है तथा मध्य अवस्था मे दोनों ओर् से  समान  रूप से हो कर
अन्ततः  परस्पर स्नेहपूर्ण व्यवहार  और मित्रता  में परिवर्तित हो जाता  है |

Aadau tu mandmandaani madhye samarasaani cha.
Ante snehamaanaani smgataanyuttame saha.

Aadau = initially.    Tu = and,  but.    Manda mandaani= feeble, slowly.
Madhye = in the middle.     Samarasaani = with equal feelings.
Cha = and.      Ante = in the end.    Snehaayamaana = full of love.
Smgataanyuttame = sangataani + uttame.    Sangataani = associations
with.     Uttame = noble and excellent persons     Saha = with.

i.e.      Association with  noble and excellent persons begins slowly and
in its middle stage is equal from both sides, Ultimately it turns into a
close friendship full of love.
