Today's Subhashita.

न कश्चित् कस्यचिन्मित्रं न कश्चित् कस्यचित् रिपुः |
अर्थतस्तु  निबध्यन्ते  मित्राणि  रिपवस्तथा            ||

भावार्थ -   प्रारम्भ  में न तो कोई किसी का मित्र होता है  और
न कोई शत्रु  होता है |  धन संपत्ति और व्यक्तिगत हित ही
वे कारण होते  हैं जो व्यक्तियों के बीच में मित्रता और शत्रुता
स्थापित करते है

Na kashchit kasyachinmitram na kashchit kasyachit ripuh.
Arthatastu nibadhyante  mitraani ripavastathaa.

Na = not.      Kashchit = anybod.      Kasyachinmitram =
kasyachit +mitram.    Mitram = a friend.   Ripuh = enemy.
Arthatastu = arthah + tu.     Arthatah = wealth and motive.
Tu = and.     Nibadhyante = binds.    Mitraani = friends
Ripavastathaa = ripavah +tathaa.    Ripavah = enemies.
Tathaa = so,  thus.

i.e.      Initially nobody is a friend or an enemy of other
person/s.  It is the wealth and motive to further one's interests,
which acts as a binding force between  persons  turning
them into friends or  enemies.
