Today's Subhashita.

हर्षस्थान सहस्राणि भयस्थान शतानि च |
दिवसे दिवसे मूढं आविशन्ति न पण्डितम् ||  - संस्कृत सुभाषितानि

भावार्थ -    मनुष्य जीवन में हर्ष या सुख की परिस्थितियां हजारों
की संख्या में और भय की परिस्थितियां सैकडों की संख्या में दिन
प्रतिदिन आती रहती  है  और जो मूढ (अज्ञानी) व्यक्ति होते हैं वे
आजीवन इन्ही में उलझे रहते है   परन्तु जो विद्वान और ज्ञानी
व्यक्ति होते हैं , वे इन परिस्थितियों से कभी प्रभावित  नहीं होते है . |

Harshasthaan sahasraani bhayasthana shataani cha.
divase divase moodham aavishanti na panditam.

Harsha = happiness.   Sthaan = position,occasion.    Sahasraani =
thousands.    Bhaya = fear.    Shataani = hundreds.   cha =  and.
Divase divase =  occuring daly..   Moodham = stupid or  ignorant
persons.    Aavishanti = fall into, come across.    Na =  not.
Panditam = enlightened and learned persons.

i.e.   There are thousands of occasions of  happiness and rejoicing,
and hundreds of occasions of fear and unhappiness occurring daily
in peoples' lives .Those who are ignorant fall prey(remain entangled)
to such happenings,but not so in the case of enlightened and learned
persons.
