आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

अभ्यासिनामेव  लभ्या  अपि  विद्याश्चतुर्दश  |
अप्यर्कमण्डलं  भित्वाSभ्यासिनैवेह  गम्यते    || - सुभाषित रत्नाकर

भावार्थ -  निरन्तर अभ्यास के बल पर ही लोग चौदह प्रकार की विद्यायें
प्राप्त कर  लेते हैं |   देखो न  !  अभ्यास के बल पर ही सूर्य सौर मण्डल को
भेद कर उसमें सतत भ्रमण करता रहता है |

(इस सुभाषित में अभ्यास करने के महत्त्व को प्रतिपादित किया गया है |
किसी भी विद्या के ऊपर पूर्ण अधिकार रखने तथा उसे समीचीन रखने  के
लिये उसका  निरन्तर अभ्यास करना अत्यावश्यक है, जैसा कि एक अन्य
सुभाषित में कहा गया है  कि - 'अनभ्यासे  विषं शास्त्रं ', अर्थात् किसी सीखी
हुई विद्या का यदि अभ्यास न किया जाय तो वह विष स्वरूप हो जाती  है |)

Abhyaasinaameva labhyaa  api  vidyaashchaaturdasha.
Apyarkamandalam  bhitvaabhyaasinaiveha   gamyate.

Abhyaasinaameva = abhisaaniaam + eva.    Abhyaasinaam =
regular practitioner.    Eva = really, thus.    Labhyaa =acquirable.
Api = even.  Vidyaashchaturdashaa. = Vidyaah +chaturdashaa.
Vidyaah = various disciplines of learning,   Chaturdashaa =
fourteen (in number).    Apyarkmandalam = api +arkmandalam.
Arkamandalam =Solar system.   Bhitva-abhyaasinaiveha =
Bhitvaa = breaking.    Abhyaasinaivaih. = regular practitioners.
Gamyate = travels, goes.

i.e.      People are able to learn even fourteen disciplines of Learning
simply by regular practice.  See ! the Sun also traverses the Solar System
continuously only because of regular practice.

(The above Subhashita highlights the importance of regular practice
to have command over any discipline of Learning.  Another Subhashita
goes to the extent of saying that if no regular practice is done to revise
and update the knowledge,it becomes outdated and is just like a poison.)
