आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

नहि  भवति  वियोगः स्नेहविच्छेद  हेतु -
र्जगति  गुणनिधीनां सज्जनानां  कदाचित्  |
घनतिमिरनिबद्धो  दूरसंस्थोSपि  चन्द्रः
किमु कुमुदवनानां प्रेमभङ्गं  करोति          ||
                         -सुभाषित रत्नाकर (स्फुट )

भावार्थ  -    इस संसार में गुणी तथा सज्जन व्यक्तियों के
बीच में  यदि किसी कारण वश एक दूसरे से संपर्क  टूट भी
जाता है  है तो भी इस से उनका आपस में प्रेम सम्बन्ध कभी
भी उसी प्रकार समाप्त  नहीं होता है जैसा  कि  दूर आकाश में
स्थित घने काले बादलों से ढके हुए चन्द्रमा का प्रेम सम्बन्ध
कुमुद पुष्पों के समूह से कभी भी समाप्त  नहीं होता है |

(रात्रि में चन्द्रमा के प्रकाश में खिलने वाले कमल पुष्पों को
कुमुद कहा जाता है | अनेक विघ्न बाधायें आने पर भी कुमुद और
चन्द्रमा का आपसी  सम्बन्ध  बना रहता है | इसी को सज्जन
व्यक्तियों की आपस में मित्रता के लिये एक उपमा के रूप में
इस सुभाषित में प्रयुक्त किया गया है | )

Nahi  bhavati  viyogah snehavicchedahetu-
rjagati  gunanidheenaam sajjanaanaam  kadaachit,
Ghanatimir  nibaddho  doorasmsthopi  Chandrah.
Kimu kumudavanaanaam  premabhangam  karoti.

Nahi = not at all.      Bhavati = happens.      Viyogah =
separation.   Sneha = affection.    Viccheda =cessation.
Hetuh = reason.     Jagati =  Earth.   Gunanidheenaam=
virtuous persons.   Sajjanaanaam = respectable persons.
Kadaachit = sometimes. Ghanatimira =darkness caused
in the night by dark clouds.   Nibaddho = covered by.
Doorasmstho = staying .far away.    Chandrah= Moon.
Kimu = can it ?.        Kumuda= a variety of lotus which
blooms in the night,  Vanaanaam = a cluster.   Prema-
bhangam = breaking of relationship of love.    Karoti=
does.

i.e.    In this World  the  separation between the respectable
and virtuous persons due to some reason does not  result at
all in cessation of their friendship, just like the relationship
between a cluster of  Lotus flowers and the Moon remains
unbroken, although the Moon stays far away in the sky and
at times is covered by dark clouds.
