आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

येषां  न  विद्या न  तपो  न  दानं
             ज्ञानं  न शीलं  न गुणो  न  धर्मः  |
ते  मर्त्यलोके  भुवि  भारभूता
               मनुष्यरूपेण   मृगाश्चरन्ति      ||
                              -चाणक्य नीति (१०/७ )

भावार्थ -    जिन  व्यक्तियों  के पास न तो विद्या है  न  तप
है , न वे दानशील हैं , न ज्ञानी हैं, न गुणवान हैं और न धर्म के 
नियमों का पालन करते हैं ,ऐसे व्यक्ति इस नश्वर  संसार में
पृथ्वी के ऊपर एक बोझ की तरह मनुष्य के रूप में पशुओं की
तरह  विचरण करते हैं |

Yeshaam na vidyaa na tapo  na daanam.
Gyaanam na  sheelam  na  guno  na dharmah.
Tey martyuloke  bhuvi  bhaarabhootaa.
Manushyaroopena  mrugaashcharanti.

Yeshaam = those.   Na = not.   Vidyaa= learning
Tapo = religious austerity.   Daanam =  giving away
as charity,     Gyaanam = knowledge.   Sheelam =
character.    Guno = virtues    Dharmah = religion.
Tey = they.   Martyaloke = in this mortal world,
Bhuvi = the Earth.   Bhaarabhootaa =  as a burden.
Manushy-roopena = in the form of Human beings.
Mrugaah = animals, antelopes.   Charanti = graze ,
move around.

i.e.    Those persons who are not learned, do nor observe
religious austerity, do not help others by giving  donations,
are not knowledgeable,  do not have good moral character ,
and do not follow the tenets of their Religion,  are in fact
like beasts in the form of human beings roaming in this
perishable world as a burden on the Earth.
