सत्यं माता पिता ज्ञानं धर्मो भ्राता दया सखा |
शान्तिः पत्नी क्षमा पुत्रः षडेते मम बान्धवाः ||

भावार्थ - सत्यवादिता (सच बोलना) मेरी माता के समान है और
ज्ञान मेरें पिता के समान है | धार्मिक आचरण मेरे भाई के समान है
तथा दया की भावना मेरे मित्र के समान है | मानसिक शान्ति मेरी
पत्नी के तुल्य है तथा क्षमा की भावना मेरे पुत्र के समान है| ये छहों
मेरे बन्धु बान्धव हैं |
Satyam maata pitaa gyaanam dharmo bhraataa daya sakhaa.
Shantih patnee kshamaa putrah shadete mama baandhavaah.
Satyam = truth. Maataa = mother, Pita = father. gyaanam=
knowledge. Dharmo = religious austerity. Bhraataa =brother.
Daya= compassion, mercy. Sakhaa = friend. Shaantih =
peace of mind. Patnee = wife. Kshamaa = forgiveness
Putrah = son. Shadete = shad+ ete. Shad = six. Ete =
these. Mama = my. Baandhavaah = relatives, friends.
i.e. Truthfulness is like my mother and higher Knowledge is
like my father. Religious austerity is like my brother and mercy
and compassion is like my friend. Peace of mind is like my
wife and forgiveness is like my son. All these six persons are
my close relatives and friends.
