आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita .

गृहासक्तस्य नो  विद्या  नो दया मांसभोजिनः  |
द्रव्यलुब्धस्य  नो  सत्यं  स्त्रैणस्य  न  पवित्रता  ||
                                  -  चाणक्य  नीति (११/५ )

भावार्थ -      अपने परिवार  में अत्यधिक आसक्त व्यक्ति विद्वान
नहीं होते हैं  तथा मांसाहारी मनुष्यों और प्राणियों में दया  की भावना
नहीं होती है |   धन के लोभी व्यक्ति सत्यवादी नहीं होते है तथा  निम्न
स्तर की स्त्रियों के संपर्क में रहने वाले और उन्हीं के समान हाव भाव
रखने वाले पुरुषों के विचारों और व्यवहार में पवित्रता नहीं होती  है  |

Ghruhaasaktasya  no vidyaa  no dayaa  maamsabhojinah.
dravyalubdhasya  no  satyam  strainasya  na  pavitrataa.

ghruhaasaktasya = Gruha + aasaktsya.    Gruha =home,
family    Aasaktasya =a person very fond of .   No = not.     
Vidyaa = knowledge, learning.    Dayaa  = compassion,
mercy.      Maamsabhojinah = carnivorous, flash eaters. 
Dravya =money   Lubdhasya = greedy person's.  Satyam =
truth.    Strainasya = a person having excessive fondness
for woman.   Na = not.    Pavitrataa =cleanliness, purity.

i.e.     Persons who  are very fond of  their home and family
are never learned persons, and persons and animals who are
carnivorous (flash eaters) are merciless and  cruel.  Persons
who are greedy for money never speaks  the  truth, and those
who have excessive fondness for women.do not maintain the
cleanliness of the body and purity of thoughts.
