Today' Subhashita.

अजातमृतमूर्खेभ्यो   मृताजातौ   सुतो  वरं  |
यतस्तौ स्वल्पदु:खाय यावज्जीवं जडो दहेत् ||

अर्थ -        भविष्य में जन्म लेने वाले या मृत होने वाले मूर्ख पुत्रों के होने से तो अच्छा तो यही है कि ऐसा पुत्र मृत ही उत्पन्न हो, क्योंकि ऐसी  स्थिति में उसकी मृत्यु का दुःख थोडे ही  समय तक रहता है , अन्यथा एक मूर्ख  पुत्र जब तक जीवित रहेगा तब तक  दुःख  और संताप  ही  देता रहेगा

Ajaatamrutamoorkhebhyo mrutaajaatau     suto varam.
Yatastau svalpaduhkhaaya yavajjevamb jado dahet,

Ajaatmrutamoorkhebhyo =  ajaat +mruta + moorkhebhyo.   Ajaat = unborn. not yet born.
Mruta = dead.     Moorkhebhyo =  stupid  persons, idiots.     Mrutajaatau = still born child.
Suto = son.     Varam = preferable.     Yatastau = yatah + tau.     Yatah = because..
Tau = that.      Svalpa = little.     Dhukhaaya = grief, sorrow, distress.    Yaavajjeevam =
yaavat + jeevam.      Yaavat = so long.     Jeevam = living.     Jadam = idiot, stupid.
Dahet = causes distress, torments.

i.e.      Instead of having foolish and idiotic sons yet to be born or existing sons to die in  future, it is preferable to have a still born son, because in that case his death will cause pain and sorrow for a limited period, whereas an idiotic son will cause distress and torment his  father so long he remains alive.
