अधीरः कर्कशः स्तब्धः कुचैलः स्वयमागतः |
एते पञ्च न पूज्यन्ते वृहस्पतिसमा यदि ||
अर्थ - धैर्य हीन, कर्कश (कटु वचन कहने वाला) ,अपने दुर्व्यवहार् से स्तब्ध कर देने वाला, फटे और गन्दे वस्त्र पहने हुए , तथा घुसपैंठिया (बिना बुलाये ही जबर्दस्ती प्रवेश करने वाला ), ये पांच तरह के व्यक्ति चाहे देवगुरु वृहस्पति के समान ही क्यों न हों , आदरणीय और पूजनीय नहीं हैं.|
Adhirah = impatient, nervous. Karkashh + rude, foul mouthed. Stabdhah = arrogant,immobile.
Kuchailah = badly clothed. Svayamaagatah = an intruder, an unwanted person who has forced his entry. Ete = these. Pancha = five. Na = not. Poojyante = honoured, revered
Vruhaspatisamaa = Vruhaspati +samaa. Vruhaspati = the head priest and teacher of Gods.
Sama = equal to, equivalent to. Yadi = even if, suppose.
i.e. An impatient and nervous person, a rude and foul mouthed person, an arrogant person, a badly clothed person, and an unwanted intruder, these five types of persons are not to be revered, even if they may be equal to Vruhaspati, the head priest and teacher of Gods.
