अतिक्लेशेन यद्द्रव्यं अति लोभेन यत्सुखं |
परपीडा च या वृत्तिर्नेव साधुषु विद्यते ||
अर्थ - संपत्ति अर्जित करने के लिये अत्यन्त कष्ट उठाने के लिये सदैव तत्पर रहना , सुख-सुविधा प्राप्त करने के लिये अत्यन्त लोभ करना, तथा अन्य व्यक्तियों को पीडा और कष्ट देना , ये सभी बुरी प्रव्रत्तियां साधु ( सज्जन ) पुरुषों में कभी भी विद्यमान नहीं रहती हैं |
Atikleshena yaddravyam ati lobhena yatsukham.
Parapeedaa cha yaa vruttirneva saadhushu vidyate.
Ati = extremely. Kleshena = by taking pains or trouble. Yaddravym = yat + dravyam.
Yat = that. Dravyam = material objects, property. Lobhena = with greed.
yatsukham = yat +sukham. Sukham = pleasure, comfort. Parapeeda = par + peedaa.
Para = others. Peeda = trouble, pain. Yaa = these . Vruttirnaeva = vruttih +naiva.
Vruttih = .tendencies, conduct Naiva = not. Saadhushu = in noble persons. Vidyate = exists.
i.e. Being always eager to bear extreme hardships for acquiring wealth , very greedy for enjoying
material wealth and pleasurable lifestyle, and causing pain and harm to others, these negative tendencies never exist among noble and righteous persons.
