Today's Subhashita.

Asatyasya vanigmoolam shaakhaastasya varaanganaa.
Kaayasthaah patra pushpaani phalaani dyootakarinah.

Asatyasya = falsehood, untrue.     Vanigmoolam = vanik +moolam.
Vanik = merchants.     Moolam = root.  origin.     Shaakhaastasya =
Shaakhaah + tasya.      Shaakhaah = branches.     Tasya = its.
Varangannah = beautiful women.     Kaayasthaa = men of a caste
by this name who were usually petition writers in Courts and maintained
Revenue records in the Government .      Patra = leaves.     Pushpaani =
flowers.       Phalaani = fruits.     Dyootakaarinah =  gamblers.

i.e.      The merchant community is like the roots of the tree of falsehood and
beautiful women are like its branches.   Kayasthaas ( usually working as petition
writers in Courts and record keepers of revenue records) are like this tree's
leaves and flowers, and gamblers are like its fruits.

(Through this Subhashita the author has used a series of similes for describing
the root causes of corruption in a sarcastic manner.)
