Today's Subhashita.

Asambhavam hemamrugasya janma tathaapi Ramo lubudhe mrugaaya.
Praayah samaapannavipattikaale dhiyopi pumsaaam malinaa bhavanti.

Ssambhavam = impossible.    Hemamrugasya = a golden deer's.    Janma =
birth.     Tathaapi = even then.     Ramo =  Lord Ram.     Lulubhe = greedy
Mrugaaya = for  the deer.    Praayah = generally.     Samaapanna = meeting
with,   fallen into.      Vipattikale = period of misfortune.     Dhiyopi =
Dhiyo +api.      Dhiyo = intelligence.     Api = even.    Pumsaam =  people.
Malinaa = tarnished, foul.     Bhavanti = becomes.

i.e.        Generally whenever people pass through a period of misfortune in
their life, they tend to lose their intelligence,   Just see !  knowing fully well
that  a golden deer is impossible to be born, even  Lord Ram was tempted to
hunt such a deer (which ultimately resulted in abduction of Sita, the wife of
Lord Ram).

(The episode of abduction of Sita by Ravana, the Demon King, detailed in
the epic Ramayana has been used as a simile in this Subhashita, underlying
the fact that whenever calamities befall upon people they tend to lose even
their basic intelligence.)
