आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

एक  एव  दमे दोषो द्वितीयो  नोपपद्यते  |
यदेनं क्षमया युक्तं  अशक्तं मन्यते जनः || - महासुभषितसंग्रह

भावार्थ -    चित्त वृत्तियों पर नियन्त्रण रखने  में केवल एक ही
दोष होता है  और कोई दूसरा  दोष नहीं  होता है | और वह् दोष है
कि यदि ऐसा व्यक्ति क्षमाशील भी  होता है तो लोग उसकी क्षमा
शीलता  को उसकी कायरता समझने लगते  हैं |

Eka eva dame doshah dviteeyo nopapadyate.
Yadenam kshamayaa yuktam ashaktam manyate jahah

Eka = one.     Eva = only, th.    Dame = self- restraint,
self- control.     Dosho = defect.    Dviteeyo = second.
Nopapadyate = na + upapayate.     Na  = not.
Upapadyate =   be present.    Yadena = Yadi +ena. Yadi =
if.     Ena = this,that.        Kshamayaa = forgiveness..  
Yuktam = combined with,  associated with.   Ashaktam =
 weak, incapable. Manyate = think , perceive.    Janah = people.

i.e.                  There is only one  defect in a person  pursuing
self-control over the faculties of body and mind  and no other
defect.s     That defect is forgiveness on his part , which is
considered as his weakness and timidity by the people..
