आज का सुभाषित /Today's Subhashita.

ऋणं  याञ्च्या  च  वृद्धत्वं  जारचोर  दरिद्रता  |
रोगाश्च भुक्तशेषश्चाप्यष्ट कष्टाः प्रकीर्तिताः || =महासुभषितसंग्रह

भावार्थ -   ऋणी होना,  भिखारी होना, बुढापा, किसी विवाहिता स्त्री
का प्रेमी (उपपति) होना, चोर होना, दरिद्र होना,  रोगी होना तथा बचे
खुचे उच्छिष्ट भोजन पर निर्भर रहना ये आठ परिस्थितियां अत्यन्त
कष्टकर कही जाती हैं |

Rinam yaanchyaa cha vrudhatvam jaarachora daridrataa.
Rogaashcha bhuktasheshaschaapyashta kashtaah prrakeertitaah.

Rinam - adebt.   Yanchyaa = begging.   Cha = and.  Vrudhatvam=
old age.        Jaara = a paramour of a married woman.      Chora=
a thief, a burglar.    Daridrataa = poverty.   Rogaashcha= Rogaah+
cha .    Rogaah = various diseases.  Bhuktsheshashchaapyashta =
Bhuktashesha+api + ashta,    Bhuktashesha =  leftover from a  
meal.    Kashtaah = troubles, difficulties.    Prakeertitaah =  are
declared as.

i.e.      Being indebted and forced to beg, being aged, being a paramour
of a married woman, being a thief , being a sick person and even being
compelled to feed on stale and left-over food,  all these eight situations
in the life a person are declared  as full of difficulties and troubles.
