आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

एकस्मिन्यत्र निधनं प्रापिते  दुष्टकारिणि  |

बहूनां  भवति  क्षेमं  तस्य  पुण्यप्रदो  वधः || - महासुभषितसंग्रह 

भावार्थ -     जब कभी भी किसी दुष्ट और हिंसक प्रवृत्ति के व्यक्ति 

की मृत्यु होती है तो बहुसंख्यक लोगों को सुरक्षा और शान्ति का 

अनुभव होता है |  अतः ऐसे (समाज विरोधी) व्यक्ति का वध करना 

एक पुण्य का कार्य है |

(वर्तमान संदर्भ में हम आतंकवादियों  को इस श्रेणी में रख सकते है,

जिन का वध कर जनता को सुरक्षा और शान्ति प्रदान करना राज्य 

का कर्तव्य है |  इसी भावना को इस सुभाषित में व्यक्त किया गया है )

Ekasminyatra nidhanam praapite dushtakaarini.

Bahoonaam bhavati kshemm tasya punyaprado vadhh.

Ekasminyatra = ekah +asmin  + yatra.    Ekah = one.

Asmin = this.   Yatra = whereever.    Nidhanam = death.

Praapite = occurs.    Dushtakaarini = wicked person with a 

destructive mentality.      Bahoonaam = a large number of  

people.    Bhavati = happens.    Kshemam = security and

prosperity.    Tasya = his.     Punyaprado = virtuous and

meritorious action.     Vadhah =  assassination.

i.e.     Whenever a wicked person with destructive mentality 

dies , citizens in general  have  a  feeling  of security  and 

prosperity.  Therefore, elimination (killing) of such persons

is a virtuous and meritorious deed.

(In the present context we can categorise terrorists in the 

above category, to eliminate whom is the  responsibility 

and duty of the Government.  This aspect has been dealt

with beautifully in the above Subhashita .)
