एको रविरतितेजसा अतिशूरःकेसरी वने वासी |
अतिविपुलं खं शून्यं अतिगम्भीरोSम्बुधिः क्षारः || - महासुभषितसंग्रह
भावार्थ - अत्यन्त तेज और प्रकाशवान सूर्य अकेला ही सारे संसार को
प्रकाशित करता है ,और अत्यन्त शूर (बहादुर) सिंह को भी अकेले वन में
निवास करना पडता है | अत्यन्त विशाल आकाश भी अनन्त (शून्य ) है
और अत्यन्त गहरे समुद्र का भी जल खारा होता है |
(इस सुभाषित का भाव यह् है कि जो भी वस्तुएं या व्यक्ति अत्यन्त महान
होते हैं वे अनुपम होते हैं और उन्हें एकाकीपन झेलना ही पडता है | )
Eko raviratitejasaa atishoorah kesari vane vaasee.
Ativipulam kham shoonyam atigambheerombudhih kshaarah.
Eko = one. Raviratitejasaa = ravih =ati +tejasaa. Ravih =
the Sun. Ati = very. Tejasaa = brilliant, bright., Atishoorah =
very brave and daring. Kesari = the Lion. Vaane = forest.
Vaasee = inhabitant of. Ativipulamx = very large and extensive.
Kham = the sky. shoonyam = the great void.. Atigaambheero +.
Ambudhih Atigambhero =very deep. Ambudhih = the Ocean.
Kshaarah = alkaline.
i.e. Extremely bright Sun has to brighten the sky alone, and the
very brave and daring Lion has to live alone in a forest.Very large
and extensive sky is a part of a great and unending void, and the
very deep ocean's water is alkaline and not potable.
The idea behind this Subhashit is that all great things or beings are
destined to be the only one of their kind and have to face aloofness.)
