Ekopyamaatyo medhavee shooro daksho vichakshanah,
Raajanam raajmaatram vaa praapayenmahatee shriyam.
Ekopyamaatyo = eko + api + amaatyo. Eko = one, Api =
even. Amaatyo = a Minister. Medhaavee = intelligent.
Shooro = a warrior, brave person. Daksho = skillful in his
duty. Vichakshana = wise and learned. Ra ajaanam =
to the king. Raajmaatrm = only the kingdom Vaa = or.
Praapayenmahatee= praapayet + mahatee. Praapayet = gets,
receives. Mahatee =great. Shriyam = prosperity.
i.e. Even if only one minister in a kingdom be intelligent,
brave, skillful in his work . wise and learned. he gets great
respect and recognition from the King or from the citizens and
becomes very prosperous.
(The idea behind this Subhashita is that even a single competent
Minister can run the administration of a kingdom and gets recognition
and respect from both the King and his subjects.)
