एवं सर्वात्मना कार्या रक्षा योगविदानिशं |
धर्मार्थकाममोक्षाणां शरीरं साधनं यतः || - महासुभषित सं ग्रह (८०८३ )
भावार्थ - मनुष्य को मनोयोग पूर्वक अपने शरीर की रक्षा करनी
चाहिये क्योंकि उसका शरीर ही धर्म, अर्थ, काम और मोक्ष को प्राप्त
करने का एकमात्र साधन है |
Evam sarvaatmanaa kaaryaa rakshaa yogavidaanisham.
Dharmaarthakaamamokshaanaam shareeram saadhanam yatah.
Evam - really, thus. Sarvaatmanaa = sarva +aatmanaa. Sarva =
all, every. Aatmana = by yourself. Kaaryaa = works, actions.
Rakshaa = defence, protection. Yogavidaanisham = yogavid +
anisham. Yogavid = conversant with Yoga, Anisham =
constantly, sleepless. Dharmaarthakaamamokshaanaam =
Dharma + artha +kaama +mokshaanaam. Dharma = religious
austerity. Artha =wealth. Kaama=love,desires. Mokshaanaam =
Salvation, emancipation.deliverance from re-birth. Shareeram =
one's body. Saadhanam = means. Yatah = since, because.
i.e. One should always protect his body with with special care,
because his body is the only means of achieving religious austerity.
wealth, fulfillment of all desires and ultimately deliverance from
the cycle of rebirth (emancipation)
