आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

एवमज्ञातहृदया  मूर्खाः  कृत्वा  विपर्ययं  |

घ्नन्ति स्वार्थं परार्थं च तादृग्ददति चोSत्तरं  || - महासुभषितसंग्रह(8093)

भावार्थ -    सचमुच एक मूर्ख व्यक्ति जिस की मानासिक स्थिति ज्ञात न 

हो यदि कोई शत्रुता पूर्ण या भडकाऊ कार्य करता है तो वह  अपने और अन्य 

व्यक्तियों के कार्यों और हितों को हानि पहुंचाता है तथा वैसे ही अनर्गल 

(ऊल जलूल) उत्तर भी देता है |

(इस सुभाषित  के माध्यम से ऐसे मूर्ख व्यक्तियों से जिनकी मानसिक स्थिति 

ज्ञात न हो सावधानी पूर्वक व्यवहार करने का  परामर्श   दिया गया है |)  

Evamagyaathrudayaa = evam +agyaata+ hrudayaa.   Evam = really,

thus.   Agyaata=unknown.   Hrudayaa =mind, mentality.  Moorkhaah=

foolish persons.    Krutyaa = having done.    Viparyayam = hostility,

enmity.    Ghnanti = kills, destroys.   Svaartham = one's own interests

or affairs.  Paraartham =other persons' interests or affairs.   Cha =and.

Taadrugdadati = taadruk + dadati,     Taadruk = in such a manner.  

Dadati = gives.  Chottaram = Cha + uttaram,   Uttaram =  reply,

i.e.       If a  foolish person, whose state of mind is unknown, creates a

hostile situation, he harms his own interests as also that of others, and 

likewise gives irrelevant and rude reply.

(Through this Subhashita the author has given advice to deal with foolish

persons with caution, if their mental condition is unknown to us.)
