आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

अन्तकोSपि  हि  जन्तूनामन्तकालमुपेक्षते  |
न कालनियमः  कश्चिदुत्तमर्णस्य  विद्यते  ||
          - सुभाषित रत्नाकर (कलिविडम्बनम् )

भावार्थ -          मृत्यु का देवता काल ही केवल सभी जीवित
प्राणियों की मृत्यु के समय की उपेक्षा कर सकता है , परन्तु
उसके नियमों में किसी प्राणी को अतिरिक्त आयु को ऋण के
रूप  में देने का कोई नियम नहीं है  |

(इस सुभाषित का तात्पर्य  यही है कि प्रत्येक प्राणी का जीवन
काल निश्चित होता है और उसमें किसी प्रकार से वृद्धि नहीं हो 
सकती  है | )

Antakopi  hi  jantoonaamantakaalamupekshate.
Na  kaalaniyamah  kashchiduttamaranasya  vidyate.

Antakopi = antako + api.      Antako = the God of Death.
Api = even.     Hi = surely.   Jantoonaam +antakaalam +
upekshate.   Jantoonaam = all living beings.   Antakaalam=
time of death.     Upekshate = disregards, overlooks.   Na =
not.   Kaalanimayah =the rules of  Death.    Kashchit = any.
Uttamarnasya= a creditor's (a person who has given a loan
to somebody).  Vidyate = there exists.

i.e.     Only the God of Death can can disregard or overlook
the time of death of a living being, because there is no rule
prescribed by Him  to add more years to the life of a living
being by way of a loan.

(The idea behind this Subhashit is that the longevity of  all
living beings is pre-determined by the God Almighty.)
