सर्वतीर्थमयी माता सर्वदेवमयः पिता |
मातरं पितरं तस्मात् सर्वयत्नेन पूजयेत् ||
भावार्थ - मनुष्य के लिये उसकी की माता सभी तीर्थों के
समान तथा पिता सभी देवताओंके समान पूजनीय होते
हैं | अतः उसका यह परम् कर्तव्य है कि वह् उनका यत्न
पूर्वक आदर और सेवा करे |
Sarvateerthamayee maataa sarvadevamayah pitaa.
Maataram pitaram tasmaat sarvayatnena poojayet.
Sarva = all. Teerthamayee = object of veneration.
Maataa = mother. Devamaya = consisting of all Gods.
Pitaa = father. Mataram = mother. Pitaram = father.
Tasmaat = therefore. yatnena = efforts, means.
Poojayet = honoured, revered.
i.e. To a person his mother is an object of veneration and
his father is like all the Gods combined. It is, therefore,
his sacred duty that he should revere and serve both of
them with utmost care and attention.
