(The author has used the simile of a snake bite for the foul language uttered by a wicked person with the help of his tongue, which has again been alluded to a snake's tongue with which it bites people and takes away their life )

Today's Subhashita.

Amar =immortal Gods.    Guru = teacher.     Makarago = situated in the sign of Capricorn.    Neechah = inferior, low, debilitated.

i.e.      Great persons proficient in various arts do not get the respect and recognition they deserve when they go to the residence of a dull and inferior person e.g. the planet Jupiter, who is termed as the teacher of immortal  Gods, is considered in exalted position and gives best results  when it is situated in the zodiac sign of Cancer (whose Lord is the Moon, a noble planet), whereas when it is situated in the zodiac sign of
Capricorn (whose lord is Saturn, a malefic Planet) it is considered debilitated and does not give good results.

(The author of this Subhashita has very cleverly  and  beautifully used a simile, which requires some knowledge of  Astrology.   Every Planet in the zodiac is considered to be the lord of a particular zodiac sign, which are 12 in number. Jupiter is the lord of  Sagittarius (धनु) and  Pisces (मीन ).  It is in exalted position in Cancer and debilitated in Capricorn (मकर).  Saturn is the lord of Capricorn and  Aquarius (कुम्भ ) and is a malefic Planet.So when Jupiter is in the Capricorn it is considered debilitated and does not give good results.)

i.e.      Oh !  what a blame and distress  noble and righteous persons have to face as a consequence of their association with mean and wicked persons ?    Ravana, the  Emperor of Lanka, abducted
the wife (Sita) of Lord Ram, the son of King Dasrath, but the Southern Ocean had to face the wrath of Lord  Ram by being  threatened to be dried up and was  ultimately bonded  (by construction of a bridge over it ) only because of the ocean's association with Ravana.

( The author of the Subhashita has used as a simile an  episode from Ramayana regarding construction of a bridge over the southern ocean connecting the mainland to the island of Lanka for attacking it. The ocean served as a natural barrier and protected Lanka, the Kingdom of Ravana the demon King from being attacked by lord Ram. At one stage Lord Ram threatened to drain out the ocean only because of  its association with Ravana, who had abducted the wife of Lord Ram.)
