मक्षिका व्रणमिच्छन्ति धनमिच्छन्ति पार्थिवाः |
नीचाः कलहमिच्छन्ति शान्तिमिच्छन्ति साधवः ||
अर्थ - मक्खियां शरीर के घावों की इच्छुक होती हैं , जनसाधारण धन प्राप्ति की कामना करते हैं | नीच व्यक्ति झगडा और मारपीट करना पसंद करते हैं जब कि साधु व्यक्ति आत्मिक शान्ति की ही इच्छा करते हैं |
Makshikaa vranamicchanti dhanamicchanti paarthivaah.
Neechaah kalahamicchanti shaantimicchanti saadhavah.
Makshikaa = flies. Vranamicchanti = vranam+innchanti. Vranam = an ulcer,, abscess.
Icchanti wish, desire. Dhanamicchanti = dhanam + icchanti. Dhanam = wealth, money.
Paarthivaah = inhabitants of the earth, princely persons. Neechaan = mean and wicked persons.
Kalaha = quarrel, violence. Shaanti = peace of mind. Saadhavh = noble and saintly persons.
i.e. Flies like (are attracted) wounds and ulcers, inhabitants of this Earth desire acquisition of wealth. Lowly and wicked persons are always inclined to engage themselves in quarreling, whereas noble saintly persons desire only peace of mind.-
