आज का सुभाषित / Today;s Subhashita.

एकविद्याप्रधानोSपि बहुज्ञानी  भवेन्नरः  |
सुभाषितानि शिक्षेत यानि शास्त्रोद्धृतानि वै || - महासुभषितसंग्रह

भावार्थ -  केवल एक ही  विद्या का विशेषज्ञ भी अनेक विद्याओं
का जानकार हो जाता है यदि वह् विभिन्न शास्त्रों में उद्धृत किये
हुए सुभाषितों (आप्त वचनों )के अध्ययन मनन द्वारा  शिक्षा
प्राप्त करता है |

( इस श्लोक में संस्कृत सुभाषितों के महत्त्व को बडे ही प्रभावी
रूप से यह कह कर  प्रतिपादित किया गया है कि उनके अध्ययन
से लोग अन्य विषयों का भी ज्ञान  प्राप्त कर सकते हैं |)

Ekavidyaapradhanopi bahugyaanee bhavennarah.
Subhashitaani shikshet yaani shastroddhrutaani cha.

Ekavidyaapradhaanopi = eka + vidyaa+ pradhano + api.
Eka = one.    Vidyaa = school of learning.   Pradhaano =
prominent, expert.     Api = even.           Bahugyaanee =
knowing many more disciplines of learning ,Bhavennarah=
bhavet + narah.      Bhavet = becomes.    Narah = a person.
Subhashitaani = epigrammatic verses of Sanskrit embodying
in them knowledge on diverse disciplines of learning.
Shikshet = teaches.    Yaani = those.   Shaastroddhrutaani =
Shaastro + uddrutaani.    Shaastrot= various disciplines of
learning.      udhrutaani =  quoted.     Cha = and,     Vai =
adverve putting  emphasis  or affermation.

i.e.      Even a person expert in only one discipline of learning
can acquire knowledge of other disciplines of learning, if he
studies the Subhashitas embodying (quoting) the wisdom
and essence of other disciplines of learning.

in them the best thoughts of various disciplines of learning in
a simple way.)
