आज का सुभाषित / Today's Subhashita.

एवमल्पश्रुतो मन्त्री कल्याणाभिजनोSप्युत |
धर्मार्थकामसंयुक्तं   नालं   मन्त्रं   परीक्षितुं  || -महासुभषित सं ग्रह(८०९८)

भावार्थ -    एक कम शिक्षित मन्त्री चाहे वह सज्जन हो तथा  उच्च कुल में
उत्पन्न हुआ  भी क्यों न हो, उसके द्वारा दिये गये धर्म, अर्थ (धन संपत्ति)
काम ( विभिन्न इच्छायें)  से सम्बन्धित परामर्श को भली भांति जांच लेना
चाहिये क्योंकि उसमें योग्यता की कमी हो सकती है |

Evamalpashruto mantri kalyaanaabhijanopyuta.
Dharmaaarthakamasamyuktam naalam mantram pareekshitum.

Evamalpashruto = evam + alpashruto.   Evam = really, thus.
Alpashruto = alpa+shruto.   Alpa = small, little.   Shruto = taught,
reputed.     Mantri = a Minister .      Kalyaanaabhijanopyuta =
Kalyaana +abhijano +apyuta.     Kalyaana = noble,  benevolent.
Abhijano = noble descent.    Apyuta = also.    Dharmaarthakaama0
-samyuktam = dharma+artha+ kaama+ samyuktam.    Dharma =
religious austerity.  Artha=wealth.  Kaama=desires.  Samyuktam=
concerning, connected with.   Naalam = na + alam.    Na = not.
Alam = competent.     Mantram = advice, counsel.   Pareekshitum=
should examine thoroughly.

i.e.       A less educated Minister, even if he may be a noble person,
also belonging to an illustrious family, his advice on the matters of
religion, finance and various needs should be thoroughly examined
before implementation, because he may be lacking in competence.
