किं कुलेन विशालेन विद्याहीनेन देहिनाम् |
दुष्कुलं चापि विदुषो देवैरपि स पूज्यते ||

भावार्थ - एक महान और प्रसिद्ध कुल का सदस्य होने से
क्या लाभ यदि वह व्यक्ति अशिक्षित और निरक्षर हो |
इसके विपरीत यदि कोई व्यक्ति बुद्धिमान और विद्वान
हो तो किसी निम्न स्तर के कुल का सदस्य होने पर भी वह
देवताओं के समान पूजा जाता है (समाज में उसका आदर
होता है ) |
Kim = what ? Kulena = a family. Vishaalena=
a great and powerful, Vidyaaheenena= unlearned
person. Dehinaam = persons. Dushkulam = of a
lowly family. Cha_ api. Cha = and. Api = even.
Vidusho = a wise and learned person. Devaih+api.
Devaih = gods. Sa = he. Poojyate = is worshipped.
is revered.
i.e. Of what use is being born in a great and powerful
family if that person is untrained and unlearned . On the
other hand a wise and learned person even if he belongs
to a lowly family is worshipped like Gods.
